Kakani, as popular as Nagarkot situated at 2073m on a northwest of Kathmandu Valley. Kakani offers a magnificient view of green valleys and the panaromic mounain view of Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Langtang including Central and Western Hiamlaya of Nepal. Its one of the best hiking and mountain biking destination in Nepal that anyone can experience.

Day of Hindu Deity of Learning, Purity and Music

Saraswati Puja also known as Basanta Panchami, celebrated in Nepal as the auspicious day of birthday of Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu deity of learning, purity and music. This is the day when children made to utter their first alphabet on the auspicious day. Hence small children are taught to read and write on the stones and slabs with chalks and pencils. Nevertheless devotees, students, writers, scholars, singers, craftsment and others worship their books, pens, inks, bottles, tools etc on this scared day as they make offerings to Goddess Saraswati with sweets, flowers and rice.

Budhanilkantha Narayan

Also known as Shayani Bhisnu and Jalashan Bishnu is from the 7th century AD and located at Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. It is 12 hand long and 6 hand wide [1 hand=18 inches approx] massive figure lying on the twisted Nagas with eleven heads called Sheshnag. In Budhanilkantha Narayan, the half opened eyes of Narayan shows peace on the face and this unique piece of sculpture from Lichchhavi Art possess a well proportionate body with flexibility.
